April 2010

The first part of the month we celebrated Easter. I made Easter baskets (they were actually buckets) at work. I was in charge of the event at work. We decorated buckets for one of the events. It was a fun activity for the kids. I also had fun making them. I even made one for Robby. Easter was such a a relaxing time. It was nice because it was conference weekend. Robby and I just listened to conference.

The rest of the month was kind of boring. Robby has been working hard with school. He has been getting prepared for his finals. They are coming up the first part of May. He is also getting ready for graduation. He has his graduation on May 15. Both Robby and I are getting ready for our fun summer. Robby is super excited about his internship. He leaves on May 18. The plan was that I was going to go to Utah and spend the summer there. We were hoping that we could save enough money to get me to Utah but things were looking down. Then my husbands family all pitched in and we sold our car. Now I am spending part of the summer in Utah and part in Hawaii. I am so excited!!!! I have never been to Hawaii. This summer is going to be amazing. It was hard to see our car go but it was necessary. Good bye CAR!!!

We are looking forward to May it is going to be such a good month.

March at the Curtis'

MARCH

Robby:

Robby has been busy with school work. He is excited that he is getting close to being finished. We found out in February that he will be going to Hawaii for an internship. He will be gone the whole summer. We purchased his plane tickets which made it so real. He leaves on May 18th and comes back the middle of August. He is a little nervous about it but very excited.

On March 15th Robby had a neat oppurtunity to participate in St. Baldricks day. St. Baldricks is an organization that raises money for kids with Cancer. Robby volunteered to have his head shaved to help raise money. Here are some pics of the event.

Jessica:

As for me I am trying to decide what to do for the summer. I have the choice of staying here or going to Utah. I might even have a chance for a promotion at work. I have not yet decided for sure. Work is going so well. I love my job. I get to do the events and Demos. We had a fun Jewelry making class. We made some real cute things.

I am really starting to make friends at work. There are two girls there that have become good friends of mine.

St. Patricks Day:

As most of you know Robby loves the holiday. He always goes all out for it. This year I helped Robby put Green in his hair. I had to work so I didn't do too much. I made Earrings and put green ribbon in my hair. It turned out to be a fun day though.

Our San Franscico day:

On the 23rd of March Robby and I went to San Fransisco for the day. We started out the day at the Oakland temple. We did an endowment session. After the session Robby was changing into his church clothes and he got his head stuck!!! Of course I laughed so hard when he told me about it.

After that we headed over the bridge to Colma to visit a cemetery where Joshua Abraham Norton was buried. Robby wanted to go and visit the grave for awhile so we finally did it. Joshua Norton declared himself as a Imperial Majesty Emperor Norton I who was citizen of San Francisco, California, who in 1859 proclaimed himself "Emperor of these United States" and subsequently "Protector of Mexico". Robby was so extremly excited to go there. While at the cemetery the sprinklers came on and Rob had to run out of the way.

After the cemetery we spent a couple of hours in San Fransisco. We got yummy Crab Sandwiches from a place near pier 39. Then we went to the Antique coin operated museum. It was so neat. They had a bunch of old Arcade games. It is free to get in. You just pay for what you want to play. It was fun to play old Arcade games.

It was so nice to spend the day together. We have both been so busy. It was just nice and relaxing to get away for the day.

Life is really good for the Curtis' :)

FEBRUARY 2010

February

What a fun month we had. The first part of the month went by quickly. Robby is doing well with his classes. He has been so busy with school. This semester is just crazy for him. Robby sent out resumes for an internship. He sent out resumes to places in Utah, Hawaii, and Sacramento. He really wanted the internship in Hawaii. A few days after he sent them out he received a call from the place in Hawaii. He got the internship in Hawaii that he really wanted. We are hoping that we will have enough money for both of us to go to Hawaii. Robby is nervous about the internship. He is also very excited about it.

Robbys birthday is on February 20th. For his birthday he wanted to go around to all the places that give free stuff away. We started out at wienerschnitzel. We got a corn dog and a chili dog for free.

Then we headed to Del taco. We got a free shake and some Tacos. After that we went to Baskin Robins.

We had planned to do more but got caught up in traffic. So after we got Ice cream Robby went to Dennys. He planned to play D and D. While he was there I went to a movie. After Dennys we went to Red robins. They gave us a bunch of great food. Robby got a free gourmet burger. I was surprised how many places will give free food for birthdays.

The highlight of Robbys birthday celebration was Benihanas. We didn't have enough time on Robbys birthday so we saved the coupon for another day. Later on Robby and I went to Benihanas. They gave Robby a coupon for $30 dollars. It was a very neat experience. They cook the food in front of you. The food was very tasty too. It was kind of weird at first. They took us to a table where there was a family. I have never had to share a table with strangers before. Robby was so excited to be there. It was something that he had been wanting to do. While there they brought out a candle that was on a statue and they sang to him. They also took a picture of Robby and I and then printed it out for him. I would suggest going there on birthdays. They spoil you. Robbys birthday was so fun.

On FEBRUARY 26th Mackenzie Spencer and Colton came to visit. They drove through the night and arrived around 6:30 in the morning. By the time they got here they both were ready for a nap. I took Colton to a park to feed ducks while they napped. Later that day we took them to Old Sacramento, which is a part of Sacramento that looks like vintage western Americana.

After enjoying Old Sacramento we headed for the Jazz vs. Kings basketball game. Unfortunately the Jazz lost to the Kings, but we all had a blast cheering. Colton was so cute. We got him to say "go Jazz". Mackenzie and I were having so much fun cheering for the Jazz. By the time the game ended we all were exhausted. Colton fell asleep through the game. We had a blast. My Brother Jared loves the Kings so he had to rub it in.

Mackenzie and Spencer wanted to go to San Francisco. On Saturday we decided to go to San Fransisco. It was a really fun day. The day was a bright and sunny day. On our way to San Francisco we stopped at the Oakland California Temple. The Oakland Temple is where Robbys parents got married. It took us awhile to find the temple because we didn't have any directions. We were able to see the temple from the freeway so we thought that it would be easy to find; unfortunately it wasn't. Colton kept saying temple. That little guy has grown up so quick. He is so cute.

After the Temple we drove over to San Fransisco. When we first got to San Francisco we went to the coast to get lunch. Spencer, Robby and I ate fresh crab sandwich, and Mackenzie ate sour dough pizza.

After lunch we decided to go on a boat tour of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. The tour was cool. We got to see the other side of Alcatraz. We couldn't believe how beautiful the Golden Gate Bridge was close up, and it was amazing to see all sides of Alcatraz. We were happy that we decided to go on the tour. After the boat ride Mackenzie was taking a picture of Robby and I and a bird pooped on here. We had to get a pic of it. We spent what was remaining of the night shopping on Pier 39.

On Sunday we went to the Sacramento Temple before church. Colton enjoyed the waterfall that was in front of the temple. After leaving we went to church with them. After church we enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal, made by Spencer. Spencer had been wanting to pick Oranges from a tree near our apartment. So Robby, Colton and Spencer decided to go pick oranges. Poor Mackenzie had to study the whole time.

Monday morning we went to the Sacramento Zoo, and Fairytale Town. While at the zoo we were able to see two monkeys talking and playing together. It was fun seeing Colton looking at the animals. After the zoo we went across the street to Fairytale Town. Fairytale Town is a theme park based on fairy tales. We had a blast taking Colton down all the slides and playing on all of the figurines.

That afternoon we headed to the Jelly Belly factory. While there we were able to go on a tour of the plant and see how they made Jelly Belly's.

It was so fun having the Prangers here. I hope they can make it back soon. Colton is such a cute kid.

We had such a great month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
