FEBRUARY 2010

February

What a fun month we had. The first part of the month went by quickly. Robby is doing well with his classes. He has been so busy with school. This semester is just crazy for him. Robby sent out resumes for an internship. He sent out resumes to places in Utah, Hawaii, and Sacramento. He really wanted the internship in Hawaii. A few days after he sent them out he received a call from the place in Hawaii. He got the internship in Hawaii that he really wanted. We are hoping that we will have enough money for both of us to go to Hawaii. Robby is nervous about the internship. He is also very excited about it.

Robbys birthday is on February 20th. For his birthday he wanted to go around to all the places that give free stuff away. We started out at wienerschnitzel. We got a corn dog and a chili dog for free.

Then we headed to Del taco. We got a free shake and some Tacos. After that we went to Baskin Robins.

We had planned to do more but got caught up in traffic. So after we got Ice cream Robby went to Dennys. He planned to play D and D. While he was there I went to a movie. After Dennys we went to Red robins. They gave us a bunch of great food. Robby got a free gourmet burger. I was surprised how many places will give free food for birthdays.

The highlight of Robbys birthday celebration was Benihanas. We didn't have enough time on Robbys birthday so we saved the coupon for another day. Later on Robby and I went to Benihanas. They gave Robby a coupon for $30 dollars. It was a very neat experience. They cook the food in front of you. The food was very tasty too. It was kind of weird at first. They took us to a table where there was a family. I have never had to share a table with strangers before. Robby was so excited to be there. It was something that he had been wanting to do. While there they brought out a candle that was on a statue and they sang to him. They also took a picture of Robby and I and then printed it out for him. I would suggest going there on birthdays. They spoil you. Robbys birthday was so fun.

On FEBRUARY 26th Mackenzie Spencer and Colton came to visit. They drove through the night and arrived around 6:30 in the morning. By the time they got here they both were ready for a nap. I took Colton to a park to feed ducks while they napped. Later that day we took them to Old Sacramento, which is a part of Sacramento that looks like vintage western Americana.

After enjoying Old Sacramento we headed for the Jazz vs. Kings basketball game. Unfortunately the Jazz lost to the Kings, but we all had a blast cheering. Colton was so cute. We got him to say "go Jazz". Mackenzie and I were having so much fun cheering for the Jazz. By the time the game ended we all were exhausted. Colton fell asleep through the game. We had a blast. My Brother Jared loves the Kings so he had to rub it in.

Mackenzie and Spencer wanted to go to San Francisco. On Saturday we decided to go to San Fransisco. It was a really fun day. The day was a bright and sunny day. On our way to San Francisco we stopped at the Oakland California Temple. The Oakland Temple is where Robbys parents got married. It took us awhile to find the temple because we didn't have any directions. We were able to see the temple from the freeway so we thought that it would be easy to find; unfortunately it wasn't. Colton kept saying temple. That little guy has grown up so quick. He is so cute.

After the Temple we drove over to San Fransisco. When we first got to San Francisco we went to the coast to get lunch. Spencer, Robby and I ate fresh crab sandwich, and Mackenzie ate sour dough pizza.

After lunch we decided to go on a boat tour of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. The tour was cool. We got to see the other side of Alcatraz. We couldn't believe how beautiful the Golden Gate Bridge was close up, and it was amazing to see all sides of Alcatraz. We were happy that we decided to go on the tour. After the boat ride Mackenzie was taking a picture of Robby and I and a bird pooped on here. We had to get a pic of it. We spent what was remaining of the night shopping on Pier 39.

On Sunday we went to the Sacramento Temple before church. Colton enjoyed the waterfall that was in front of the temple. After leaving we went to church with them. After church we enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal, made by Spencer. Spencer had been wanting to pick Oranges from a tree near our apartment. So Robby, Colton and Spencer decided to go pick oranges. Poor Mackenzie had to study the whole time.

Monday morning we went to the Sacramento Zoo, and Fairytale Town. While at the zoo we were able to see two monkeys talking and playing together. It was fun seeing Colton looking at the animals. After the zoo we went across the street to Fairytale Town. Fairytale Town is a theme park based on fairy tales. We had a blast taking Colton down all the slides and playing on all of the figurines.

That afternoon we headed to the Jelly Belly factory. While there we were able to go on a tour of the plant and see how they made Jelly Belly's.

It was so fun having the Prangers here. I hope they can make it back soon. Colton is such a cute kid.

We had such a great month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DECEMBER 2009 AND JANUARY 2010

DECEMBER

Beginning of December: December was a crazy month. As most of you know I work at Michaels Arts and Crafts. Working a retail job during the holidays is very stressful. I worked lots during December. Robby was also busy in December studying and taking his finals. We both stayed super busy. Robby and I also went to Utah on Dec 25. We had planned to just spend Christmas together at our house. Plans changed quickly. My brother wanted to through my Dad a surprise Birthday party (It was his 60th). Rob and I could not miss it so we planned to go up after Christmas.

Christmas: We were trying to save money so we could go to Utah so we were not going to get a tree and I was so bummed. Robby knew how important it was to me to have a Christmas tree. One day while I was at work he surprised me with a little Christmas tree. I was so excited when I got home. It was too cute. Then he told me how he got it. He went around our neighborhood trying to find a branch and came across the tree in the gutter. He then brought it home and decorated it. I loved the surprise. Christmas was nice. On Christmas morning we headed to the Train station to go to Utah. We decided to open presents on the 24th. Once again we did not get each other much because we are trying to save money. The train ride was really long.

Utah Visit:

1. Curtis side: Dec 26-Dec 29----We spent the first part of the trip with Robs side of the family. Robbys whole family was there. His family had not all been together for a long time. It was such a blast. We hung out playing Rock band and other Wii games. It was fun to see Ellie and Little Lucy. They have grown up so much. Robby was really excited because he had not seen his brother Chris for 2 years. Robbys Grandma was also there from Washington.

2. Pitcher side: Dec 30-Dec 31---- We spent the second part of the trip with the Pitcher side. Robby invited Chris and Zaneta over to my parents and they built a snow fort. Spencer, Colton, Jaxon, Cameron and Savanna also helped them build it. Some how the boys got an idea to tie sleds to the back of Chris' jeep. Robby and Spencer held on to the back of the jeep. (I was not so happy about it but they had fun). The kids had fun helping them with the fort. Robby was excited for the SNOW!!!

I spent a lot of the time with The nieces and nephews.

We even took a bunch of them to the movies. The pic below is just a few of them who went to the movies with us. This is while we were waiting to be picked up. Robby had taken some of them back to Autumns.

On Dec 31 Robby and I went with Mackenzie and her family, Jared and his family and My mom and Dad to a place called Pirates cove. It was so much fun. There was Karaoke, a Jungle gym and a arcade place. We all got up to Karaoke except my parents!!!!

JANUARY

DADs Birthday party: On January 1st my siblings and I through my dad a surprise party. My dad was turning the big 60. I had a feeling that he would not like it but it was still fun to plan. I was in charge of food. (I have to admit it was super stressful) We ended up getting sub sandwiches from Walmart. Autumn was very helpful. She went with me to Walmart to get prices. The party was fun but we got way to much food. Mackenzie was in charge of a video and she did an amazing job on it. My dad cried of course!!!! Autumn made a cute cake but she was not pleased with how it turned out. (I helped with it and that is why it did not turn out:) CaraDee did the decorations. Purple of course!! Jared was the one who came up with the idea for the party. He took care of everything else. He got us the building. The party was so fun. Lots of people came and even though my dad did not want it he seemed to really enjoy it.

Sledding: On January 2nd Robby and I invited both sides of the family sledding. We had a bunch of people come. It was a lot of fun!!!!

I was surprised that I was able to get work off to go to Utah. When I got back to Work everyone was so excited to see me. One of my co workers told me never to leave again. I am enjoying my job. I started working there in August. In October my boss asked me if I would be willing to be over the Events in the store. Which means if there is a class that corporate wants us to do I am the one who gets to teach it. I also do demos. I love doing the Events. I have done some cute ones. The first one I did was a Bead event. I love making Jewelry which is something I never thought I would like but I do. I have some pictures that I will post of some of my Jewelry I have made. During Christmas I did a Demo for a really cute wreath. It was a snowman wreath. I sent one to my sister Autumn who really love it too.

As for Robby January was a stressful month. He started a new semester which is always stressful. He has a full work load this semester. He is getting close to being done with school. Some of his classes are: Capital Punishment, Law of Armed Conflict, International Protection of Human Rights, Advanced Criminal Procedure, Remedies and Constitutional Law.
